Difference between Kufr and Shirk

Q: A Muslim sister N. S. `A from Riyadh says: What is the difference between Kufr (disbelief) and Shirk (associating others with Allah in His Divinity or worship)? Please, advise. May Allah reward you!

Answer by Imam Ibn Baz (rahimahullaah):

Kufr is the denial and concealment of the Truth such as those who deny the obligation of Salah, Zakah, Sawm, Hajj in case of being financially and physically able, and dutifulness to one's parents, and so on. It is also like those who deny the prohibition of Zina (premarital sexual intercourse and/or adultery), consuming Khamr (intoxicants), and disobeying one’s parents.

Shirk is to devote the acts of worship to anything beside Allah (Exalted be He) such as those who seek the help of the dead, the absent, the Jinn, idols, the stars, and so on or those who offer sacrifices or make vows to them.

A Kafir (disbeliever) may be called a Mushrik (one who associates others with Allah in His Divinity or worship) and vice versa. Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He) says,

"And whoever invokes (or worships), besides Allâh, any other ilâh (god), of whom he has no proof; then his reckoning is only with his Lord. Surely! Al­Kâfirûn (the disbelievers in Allâh and in the Oneness of Allâh, polytheists, pagans, idolaters) will not be successful."

Allah (may He be Praised) also says, "Verily, whosoever sets up partners (in worship) with Allâh, then Allâh has forbidden Paradise to him, and the Fire will be his abode."

In Surah Fatir, Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He) says, "Such is Allâh, your Lord; His is the kingdom. And those, whom you invoke or call upon instead of Him, own not even a Qitmîr (the thin membrane over the date­stone). If you invoke (or call upon) them, they hear not your call; and if (in case) they were to hear, they could not grant it (your request) to you. And on the Day of Resurrection, they will disown your worshipping them. And none can inform you (O Muhammad ملسو هيلع اللها ىلص) like Him Who is the All­Knower (of everything)." Here, Allah (Exalted be He) names their call upon things other than Him as Shirk and in Surah Al­Mu'minun, Allah (Exalted be He) names it Kufr.

In Surah Al­Tawbah, Allah (Glorified be He) says, "They (the disbelievers, the Jews and the Christians) want to extinguish Allâh’s Light (with which Muhammad ملسو هيلع اللها ىلص has been sent ­ Islâmic Monotheism) with their mouths, but Allâh will not allow except that His Light should be perfected even though the Kâfirûn (disbelievers) hate (it). It is He Who has sent His Messenger (Muhammad ملسو هيلع اللها ىلص) with guidance and the religion of truth (Islâm), to make it superior over all religions even though the Mushrikûn (polytheists, pagans, idolaters, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh) hate (it)." Here, Allah (Exalted be He) calls the disbelievers as Kuffar and Mushriks. This indicates that a Kafir may be called a Mushrik and vise versa. There are many Ayahs and Hadith that stress the same meaning.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Verily, between a man and Shirk and Kufr is the negligence of prayer." (Related by Muslim in his Sahih (authentic) book of Hadith on the authority of Jabir Ibn `Abdullah, may Allah be pleased with them).He (peace be upon him) also said, "The covenant that distinguishes between us and them (the hypocrites) is Salah. Anyone who abandons it is a Kafir." (Related by Imam Ahmad, Abu Dawud, Al­Tirmidhy, Al­Nasa'y, and Ibn Majah with a Sahih chain of transmission on the authority of Buraydah ibn Al­Hasib, may Allah be pleased with him).May Allah grant us success!

Sun being brought near in the day of judgement

The Sun will be brought near on the Day of Qiyaamah – Shaykh Uthaymeen by AbdurRahman.org Day of Resurrection  The Third Event The Sun is Brought Near The sun will be brought near to mankind, as close as a “mile,” the Arabic word used for mile here being مِيْل (mīl). Whether it is the mile we know to be the common unit of distance or the eye-pencil to apply kohl (as the word could imply in Arabic), whatever the case the sun will be very close to people.[29] If the sun’s heat is as we know it here in this life while there is such a great distance between it and us, then how will it be when it is a “mile” above our heads? Here is a question: It is well-known that if the sun were to move even a hair from its position, it would burn the earth, incinerating it completely. So how is it possible on that day for the sun to be that close and not burn creation? The answer is that although people will be resurrected on that day with their previous bodies, they may not be recreated in the same exact state and with the same capability as they have now. Rather, they will be stronger and greater in what they can withstand. For example, if people were to remain for fifty days in direct sunshine with no shade, no food, and no water, they would be unable to do so; they would die. But on the Day of Resurrection, they will remain in such a state for fifty thousand years [30] without food,water, or shade except those to whom Allah ( عزّ وجلّ ) shades. In addition, they will witness other terrifying events but they will be made to withstand them. As an example of this greater capability to bear situations without dying, look at how the people of the fire will withstand such seemingly unbearable circumstances: إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِآيَاتِنَا سَوْفَ نُصْلِيهِمْ نَارًا كُلَّمَا نَضِجَتْ جُلُودُهُم بَدَّلْنَاهُمْ جُلُودًا غَيْرَهَا لِيَذُوقُوا الْعَذَابَ Indeed, those who disbelieve in our verses, we will drive them into a fire. Every time their skins are roasted through, we will replace them with other skins so they may taste the punishment. [Surah An-Nisa 4:56] Will anyone be saved from the heat of the sun on the Day of Resurrection? Yes, there are types of people whom Allah will shade from the sun. The prophet ( صلّى اللّه عليه وسلّم ) said: There are seven (types of people) whom Allah will shade in his shade on a day when there will be no shade except his shade: a just ruler; a youth who grew up in the worship of Allah; a man whose heart is attached to the mosques; people who love each other for Allah’s sake, meeting for his sake and parting for his sake; a man who is called by a woman of beauty and position (for adultery), but he says: “(No) I fear Allah;” a man who gives in charity and hides it so much so that his left hand does not know what his right hand gives in charity; and a man who remembered Allah in private so much that his eyes shed tears. [Recorded by al-Bukhārī, Muslim, and al-Tirmidhī] There are also other types of individuals Allah will shade on that day. And by, “when there will be no shade except his shade,” it means no shade except the shade Allah creates. And it is not as some people think that it is the shade of Allah himself because that would necessitate that the sun would be above Allah ( عزّ وجلّ) In this life, we can take shelter in shade ourselves, but on the Day of Resurrection, there will be no shade except the shade Allah ( سبحانه وتعالى ) makes so that whoever he wills can take shelter in his shade when the sun is brought near. Due to the closeness of the sun, people will sweat so much that it will rise. The Fourth Event The Sweat Rises Because of the sun’s heat, people will sweat profusely in proportion to their deeds. For some, the sweat will rise to their ankles, some to their knees, some to their waists, and for some, the sweat will rise up to their mouths. So individuals will be at different levels regarding their sweat. They will sweat from the intense heat and the extremely uncomfortable situation: crowdedness, extreme hardships, and at close distance to the sun. Still, although people will sweat from the circumstances of that day, their sweat will only be according to their deeds in this life. [33] Here is a question: How will they be of varying degrees in sweat if people are all together in one place? To answer, we must return to a basic principle of belief. It is that when dealing with affairs of the unseen, events that authentic texts confirm will take place in the future, it is incumbent upon us to believe in them, trusting them to be true without persisting in asking, “How? Why?” These are things beyond the extent of our own intellects; it is not yet possible for us to perceive or fully understand it. Imagine two people buried in a single grave, one a believer and the other a disbeliever. The believer will still experience the enjoyment that he deserves, and the disbeliever will experience the punishment he deserves even though they are in the same grave. Likewise, we believe the sweat will rise on the Day of Judgment as foretold. Now are we saying that Allah (سبحانه وتعالى) will gather together someone whose sweat will reach his mouth in a particular place, someone with sweat to his ankles in a different place, and others with sweat rising to their knees or waist in other places? No, not necessarily but Allah knows best. What we are saying is that it is possible for the individual with sweat reaching only to his ankles to be next to someone with his sweat up to his mouth because Allah is capable of doing anything. This is comparable to the fact that light will encompass believers all around them, yet at the same time, disbelievers in Allah will be surrounded by darkness. So regarding the Day of Resurrection, we must believe in it and all that is to occur on that day. As for the “How?” and “Why?” of the exact nature, that is not our right to know. As people suffer on the Day of Resurrection, standing in their own sweat, they will anxiously wait for judgment to begin. And this will only occur by “The Greatest Intercession.” Footnotes: [29] The prophet ( صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ) said in the ḥadīth recorded by Muslim confirming this: » تُدْنَى الشَّمْسُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مِنْ الْخَلْقِ حَتَّى تَكُونَ مِنْهُمْ كَمِقْدَارِ مِيلٍ « On the Day of Resurrection, the sun will be brought close to creation so much that it will be a “mile” from them. One of the narrators of the ḥadīth, Sulaym Ibn ‘Āmir, said, “By Allah, I do not know if he meant by mīl the distance of land or the mīl that is used to apply kohl to the eye.” [30] The scholar is perhaps alluding to the verse in Sūrah al-Ma’ārij (70:4) in which Allah says, تَعْرُجُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ وَالرُّوحُ إِلَيْهِ فِي يَوْمٍ كَانَ مِقْدَارُهُ خَمْسِينَ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ The angels and the spirit will ascend to him during a day the extent of which is fifty thousand years. Also, the prophet ( صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ) said in a ḥadīth recorded by Muslim: مَا مِنْ صَاحِبِ كَنْزٍ لا يُؤَدِّي زَكَاتَهُ إِلاَّ أُحْمِيَ عَلَيْهِ فِي نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ فَيُجْعَلُ صَفَائِحَ فَيُكْوَى بِهَا جَنْبَاهُ وَجَبِينُهُ حَتَّى يَحْكُمَ اللَّهُ بَيْنَ عِبَادِهِ فِي  يَوْمٍ كَانَ مِقْدَارُهُ خَمْسِينَ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ ثُمَّ يَرَى سَبِيلَهُ إِمَّا إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ وَإِمَّا إِلَى النَّارِ There is no owner of treasure who does not pay its zakāh (obligated charity), but it will be heated in the fire of Hell and made into plates with which his sides and forehead will be branded until Allah passes judgment between his slaves on a day the length of which will be like fifty thousand years. Then he will be shown his path, whether it leads to Paradise or to Hell. [33] This is established by the ḥadīth recorded by Muslim in which the prophet ( صلّى اللّه عليه وسلّم ) said: فَيَكُونُ النَّاسُ عَلَى قَدْرِ أَعْمَالِهِمْ فِي الْعَرَقِ ، فَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَكُونُ إِلَى كَعْبَيْهِ ، وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَكُونُ إِلَى رُكْبَتَيْهِ ، وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَكُونُ إِلَى حَقْوَيْهِ ، وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يُلْجِمُهُ الْعَرَقُ إِلْجَامًا The people will be in sweat in accordance with their deeds. How to correct the problems of the muslim world

Because we know the firmly established reality, which is being neglected or more accurately purposely neglected, by those extremists who do not have anything except that they proclaim Takfeer of the rulers, and then nothing else!!

And they continue to proclaim Takfeer of the rulers then nothing stems from them, or about them, except discord and strife!!

The calamities in these past few years which have been by the hands of these people, beginning from the discord (fitnah) of the Haraam of Makkah to the dissension in Egypt and the killing of Sadaat. Finally, in Syra and now in Egypt and Algeria- a sight that everyone can see; the shedding of the blood of many of the innocent Muslims because of these fitn, tribulations, and the occurrence of many trials and calamities.

All of this because they opposed many of the texts from the Book and the Sunnah and the most important of which is:

"Indeed in the Messenger of Allaah you have a good example to follow, for him who hopes in the meeting with Allaah and the Last Day and remembers Allaah much."

If we really want to establish the rule of Allaah on the earth – in reality not just in a claim - then do we start with making Takfeer of the rulers while it is not possible for us to confront them – let alone fighting them - or do we start – with the obligation - the Messenger of Allaah - SallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam - started with?

There is no doubt that the answer is:

"Indeed in the Messenger of Allaah you have a good example to follow......"

But what did the Messenger of Allaah - SallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam -begin with?

It is known – with certainty - to anyone who has smelt the fragrance of knowledge that he began with the Daw’ah between individuals whom he thought were ready to accept the truth. Then whoever was ready to respond to him, from the individuals of the noble Companions responded to him - as it is well known in the prophetic biography. Then the punishment and the severity befell these Muslims in Makkah. After that came the command for the first migration and the second until Allaah Azza wa Jal consolidated Islaam in al-Madeena al-Munnawara. From there began the skirmishes and the opposition. Also, the fighting between the Muslims and the kuffaar on one side and the Jews from the other.......etc.

Therefore it is necessary for us to begin by teaching the people the true Islaam; like the Messenger - SallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam - had begun. Now we cannot just confine ourselves to teaching alone, because things have entered into Islaam which are not from

it, and has no association with Islaam, from the bida' and innovations which were the reason for the clear downfall of the lofty status of Islaam.

Because of this it is obligatory upon those inviting to Islaam to begin with purification of Islaam from what has entered into it.

The first principle – “Purification”

The second principle – “Education”

The education that is associated with this purification is the education of the young active Muslims on this pure Islaam.

If we study the reality of the Islaamic groups which have existed, for nearly a generation, and their ideas and the practice of these ideas. We would find that many of them have not benefited themselves, nor have they benefited others with anything that can be remembered! Despite their outcry and noise, that they want an Islaamic government!! Which was a reason of spilling blood of the innocent with this baseless argument!! Without them having realised anything from it.

We continue to hear from their beliefs which are opposed to the Book and Sunnah and actions which are negated by the Book and Sunnah, let alone them trying, again and again with futile attempts which oppose the Sharia'.

Finally I say: there is a statement which one of the propagators of Islaam said, which I used to hope that his followers would adhere to it and fulfill it, which is: 'Establish the Islaamic state in your heart it will be established for you on the earth.'

Because If a Muslim corrects his Aqeedah built upon the Book and Sunnah, then there is no doubt that from this he will correct his worship, correct his behavior and his manners etc.

But, with regret, these fine words have not been acted upon by these people, they persist with an outcry to establish the Islaamic state but without any benefit! and it is said about them – and I swear by Allaah to this - what the poet said is true:

You hope for success and you do not follow its path Indeed a ship does not sail on dry land.

Perhaps in this what I have mentioned is persuasive enough for every just person, and a termination for every oppressor.

We seek Allaah's help.

How strange it is that a people will get leaders which they deserve

“Ponder upon the Hikmah (Wisdom) of Allah (Azza wa Jall) where He has made people's kings, leaders, and those of authority over them, of the same kind as their own deeds. It is as if the people's deeds appeared in the forms of their kings and leaders.

If the people are upright, then their kings and rulers will be upright, and if they turn away (from uprightness), then their leaders will turn against them. And if they oppress and tyrannize, then their kings and rulers will tyrannize and oppress. And if deception and treachery becomes manifest amongst them, then the same will appear in their rulers.

If the people refrain from fulfilling the rights of Allah upon them and become niggardly (regarding their execution), then their kings and rulers will refuse to give them their rights and will become niggardly (withhold their rights from them). And if they take away from those whom they oppress that which they deserve not to take, then the kings will take away from the people that which they deserve not to take and will levy taxes and impose tasks upon them. And whatever the people unjustly take from the oppressed, their kings take the same by force from them.

So those in charge of the people appear in the forms of their (the ruled) deeds. And it befits not the Divine Wisdom that the evil and wicked be ruled except by those of the same kind.

And since the early [Muslims] were the best and most righteous of generations, their rulers were of the same standing. But when the people turned weak, their rulers turned to be of their own rank.

So it befits not the Hikmah (Wisdom) of Allah in these times that rulers the like of Mu’aawiyah and Umar bin Abdulaziz, be in charge over us, and even less the like of Abu Bakr and Umar.

Rather, our rulers are in accordance with our own rank and standing, and the ones who ruled those before us were (also) in accordance with these people own rank and standing. And both matters (the status of the former rulers and those of this time) are as necessitated and entailed by [Allah's] Hikmah.”

The Problem with Arranged Marriage fantasy vs. reality

Yes, you read the title of this post right. Yes there is a problem with arranged marriage, a BIG

problem. And the problem starts with you.

Many of us out there that don’t date before marriage are content to wait for Allah to find us our life partner. We choose not to date or engage in intimate relations before marriage, because we believe that the only relationship between a man and a woman can be that of husband and wife. And so we’re content to wait.

But while we’re waiting for our parents, family, or friends to find us this ideal mate, we begin daydreaming. While we wait, we begin to concoct a fantasy in which we are the princess and our husband is the prince. While we wait, we begin to build up our future husband to epic proportions. He will look like a mix between David Beckham and Shah Rukh Khan. He will be into sports but also going to the theatre with us. He will be a millionaire and will spoil us. He will be everything we’ve ever dreamed of and more.

I speak from experience when I say it’s so easy to do this. We don’t mean to, but as we wait for our soul male, we begin to have unrealistic expectations of our future spouse so much so that when we meet potential suitors, we are not satisfied. Obviously they don’t look like a mix between your favourite celebrity crushes and nor are they a millionaire. They might have some of the qualities you dreamed of, and they might have some qualities that you didn’t dream of.

Many of us get so caught up in this ‘dream guy’ that we let many potential suitors walk by us, because we are so fixated on finding that guy that we have been dreaming about and thinking about for years. But I have news for you: he doesn’t exist.

The qualities or attributes that you’re looking for, some of them are superfluous. Money will come and go, and so can looks. But the strength of someone’s character and their faith in God are things that last a lifetime. So prioritize. What are the characteristics or attributes that are most important to you? Is praying 5 times a day important to you? Is someone who is family-oriented important to you? Is someone who is forgiving important to you?

Focus on the things that matter most to you and forget about the things that don’t matter. Allah has made a match specifically for you, and he might do all the things that annoy you, but he is the one that Allah has destined for you. And you will end up together no matter what. So have patience.

And while you are waiting for your ‘dream guy’, take a look at yourself. Are you someone’s idea of a dream girl? Meaning, do you possess all the qualities and attributes that you are searching for in a life partner? If not, work on yourself. Not for the sake of someone else, but for yourself. Be the best person you can be.

Marriage is no fairytale. It is a relationship that requires work, love, and patience. It is half our deen, but not all of it. So don’t focus all your energies on it and on your idea of what your ideal husband will be.

So pray, make dua, and have patience. May Allah reward give us the best in this world and the next, inshAllah.

Sometimes i am ashamed to be muslim in trinidad

It is a sad fact that i am sometimes ashamed to be muslim in trinidad . I am ashamed what i can only be described as criminal actions by " muslim " gangs north . It is a disgrace to see that picture of a woman wearing a hajib celebrating the verdict of the Vindra Naipaul case  . I am ashamed that the fear of terrorism is so bad that any randomly fool can leave a voice msg on facebook and malls will be shut down . Or today as i watched children silently pray in school some genuinely wondering if there would be something in their school . The feeling i get when some one ask me about treats to my county , our country and they ask me because they know i am a muslim so the assume i know some thing or understand something they dont , how the hell am i suppose to know something , i dont know , they watch the news i dont they know more than me .........it sickens me to my stomach because even though i want to pass it of as a joke like everybody else from the minister of education come down and i genuinely do believe its a hoax . But somewhere to the back of my mind i wonder what if its real ? What if its true ? And i am ashamed that it has come to this ............. And i fear that in the future its only going to get worst

Now be for you read this know why i am posting it , i have seen people in the muslim community who are highly regarded may be be cause of who their family are or how rich they or even their education level . Then i see their actions and they are far from islamic ( some are pretty bad but gets swept under the rug ) but no matter what they do ppl still look up to them . Then there are oher brothers who do not have family high up in the community may be they converted or something and they are ingorned . I it often irrates  me the view that the non-muslims i interact with have of me , coming up and asking questions and they really to watch what i do as some how using my actions as a standard of how islam's teachings are actually praticed by all muslims . They have a definate opnion of me and the " position " they assume i hold in the religon , but the truth is thats far from true , not only do i comit sins like eveyone else . If i was to walk in to the musjid people would ingore me in genaral , which is ok with me really . But they were times that i have advised people about matters in the religon , i mean serious matters that people simply ingore simply because it was me saying it . Case in point , i was talking to this young ahmadia boy who really did not understand much of the religon . So when i realized he was ahamedia i just had to explain the error that the ahamedia have because it is an impossible one to ingore . Now they are many muslims in the world sunnis , shai , sufis all manner or names and pratices we have had arguements over who have been right for hundreds of years . Wars have been fought ppl killed ect . But all of the muslims , all the muslims in the world with out exception are united in the belief that " there is no god but allah and muhammad saw is his final messenger saw " . Then there are the ahmedia who beleive in a messenger after muhammad , a belif that takes them outside the fold of islam completly . Some muslim countries have actually taken the time to pass laws concerning the matter that the belief of these people takes them ontside the fold of islam  . They are not even allowed to perform hajj because they are not muslim and can not enter mecca or medina . So in a very nice way i explained to him that in islam we believe that muhammad saw is the last messenger that allah sent , and why ect . The guy listened understood what i told him and then he goes home . The next dad he comes up to me and he is like Sir are you a shykh or something so i told him no and that was it , he understood what i told him , he understood why the ahamedia were wrong but because somebody else had some kind of tittle told him other wise  automatically they are are right and i am wrong just because i said it .

Some people disguise themselves in a religious façade to make others assume they are pious. However, never judge a book by the cover and be aware that some people pretend to be religious for their ulterior objectives, something that has distorted the image of Islam.

Dr. Nasser Al-Obaid, a Dawa worker, said it is dangerous for people to pretend to be what they are not and that it is equally dangerous to generalize people. “Unfortunately, most people either harshly judge those who pretend to be religious or staunchly support them. We should be moderate and avoid generalizations,” said Al-Obaid to Al-Riyadh newspaper.

“Some tend to generalize based on certain personal situations and claim that everyone who appears to be religious are hypocrites because from the outside they pretend to be good but from the inside they do not observe Islamic teachings,” he added.

Al-Obaid said he was not defending religious people or asking others to turn a blind eye to the negative practices they engage in. “At the end of the day, religious or not, people are human beings and are prone to make mistakes. It is wrong to judge people on certain acts in certain situations,” he said.

However, if a religious person continues to engage in negative practices then he deserves to be blamed and criticized, he said, adding: “Everyone should be careful when dealing with such people.”

Dr. Atallah Al-Abar, secretary-general of the Family Welfare Society, Qurayyat, warned against Islamic preachers who try to convince people they are religious but live lives that are contrary to the Shariah.

“Only renowned and well-known scholars should be followed because they are known to all people and the majority respects them. Some people disguise themselves as religious for ulterior goals. They do this to deceive people and con them out of money or for other illegal purposes. Some of us fall prey to them and believe that they are telling the truth,” he said.

The real religious person, said Al-Abar, is the one who embraces the other and does not exclude him; he offers advice and tolerates others. “I advise young men and women to approach only renowned scholars if they have questions. The scholars should open up channels of communications with the general public and make their moderate voice reach all sections of society,” he said.

Dr. Khalid Al-Sebait, an associate professor of Islamic studies at King Khalid Military College, criticized how some members of the public tend to base judgments on external appearances.

“It is strange that even if one performs the five prayers every day, fasts Ramadan, pays zakat, acts politely with others and above all treats his parents nicely and with great respect, he will still be viewed negatively. It is because some of us judge him by the way he looks on the outside,” said Al-Sebait.

“In fact, some people with low-level ethics have taken advantage of the situation and pretend to be religious in order to deceive others. One of the effective solutions to this problem is to raise public awareness about these negative practices and show them that the external appearance should not be used as a criteria for judging and trusting others,” he said

"Listen my brother. I sincerely advise you and other youths like you, who stand upon a type of deviation - as it seems to us, and Allaah knows best - that do not waste your time in refuting each other, saying that such and such has this in him, and such and such has that in him.

This is beacuse; firstly: there is no knowledge at all in this, and secondly: this mannerism only breeds enmity and hatred in the hearts, and causes contempt and rancour to develop in the hearts. 

So It is upon you to seek knowledge. It is knowledge that will make clear to you the reality of the speech which is in praise of a particular person having many mistakes, and whether he is deserving of being labelled as an innovator. Yet why do we wish to delve into such issues.

Indeed I advise you not to delve into such issues. The reality is that we complain about this splitting which has occurred between those who ascribe themselves to the da'wah to the Book and the Sunnah - or as we say, ad-Da'watus-Salafiyyah the greatest cause of this splitting, and Allaah knows bests, is the following of whims and desires and the evil dictates of one's soul. It is not due to the presence of differences in thoughts and ideas. So this is my sincere advice."

Well, it starts when they take a baby elephant, and tie a rope around its hind leg, and attach it to a stake in the ground. The baby fights and fights, trying to pull the rope free, but it does not have the strength to do so. It continues to try, sometimes for days, expending all its energy, until one day, it stops trying – It has finally learnt that it is unable to pull free.

Why are there so many crazy muslims out there . I would really like some one to tell me . Could it be the Quran , i have read this book there its no more militant than the bible . So what then would someone please explain this to me . I have been watching the recent events in france where yet another crazy person who happens to be muslim starts killing people 3 Muslim french paratroopers , although many media houses conveniently forget the muslim part , Then a couple kids and there teacher . I mean wtf ? How , why ? How many muslims out there so lax that they drink alcohol , eat pork , running around anything with a skirt . Its wrong it goes against the teachings of their own bloody religion . And there is the other side of this where you have people killing children . Islam is a religion of the middle course both are wrong . Just like when a muslim out there drinks alcohol they are wrong , so too killing kids or other muslims is wrong . How far we are from our own religion , how far we are from our own religion . May allah help and guide us and all the muslims all over the world. Ameen

Speech & action

Imam bukhree said That the religion consists of (both) speech and action 4 and this is due to the saying of Allaah: And they were commanded  The Murji’ah are a sect who uphold the belief of Irjaa’ (to hold that sins major or minor, do not affect faith and that faith neitherincreases nor decreases).

The first to call to this belief was Gheelaan ibn Abee Gheelaan, the Qadariyy. He was executed in 105H. They claim that actions are not part of faith, that people do not vary in faith, that faith does not increase or decrease and that one should declare himself a Believer without saying, ‘If Allaah wills.’
The Murji’ah are divided into three groups, as Shaykh ul-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah has mentioned:

1.  Those who claim that faith is a condition of the heart only. 
2.   Those who claim that faith is merely verbal affirmation (i.e. the Karraamiiyyah).
3.  Those who claim that faith is only affirmation with the heart and tongue, but that action is necessary in addition to it. Al-Laalikaa’ee (d. 418H) reports in his Sharh

I hate the New Blogger

This is the first time i have logged into my blog for over a mth . Why do you ask ? Because i tried to use dynimic template from blogger , for those of you who dont know it some new thing that google is tring . Its very pretty really but its not supported by mobile broswers , even IE 7 . You Can Not see the page there is not even a default setting . All of this was not not bad enough i could not manage to log on and change it back once i changed it . I smiply could not find the button . It took a bout a month to figure out how to do it . To so ir by the way dont go to your blog and sign in form there there is no way to do it . You must go directly to the blogger website and log in from there they will take you to your dashboard where you can disable the peice of crap dynamic templates

Question: To what degree is a Muslim to be concerned with politics today, within it's Islaamic guidelines? Answer: If what is intended by "politics" is the administering of the ummah, then the reality is that politics is not from the acts of one individual from the people of the ummah, but rather, it is from the duties of the Muslim State. This is if the objective behind politics, as we stated before, is the administering of the ummah and the managing of its concerns in order to rectify what is in it from its religious and worldly affairs. So if this is what is intended by "politics", then this is fard kifaayah (a collective obligation). However, it is not for those people who are not in control of the state or of the rule, nor for those who can neither produce benefit nor cause harm. As for obtaining the news to be aware of the state of affairs and the weakness the Muslims are in, and in order to avoid this outcome, then as we say, this is from the tasfiyah (purification) and the tarbiyah (educating) – purifying Islaam from what has entered into it and focusing on educating the Muslims and bringing them up on this purified Islam. So knowing these general circumstances, which encompass the Muslims, is a must for the matter is as the old Arab poet has stated, taking his meaning from an authentic hadeeth:"I learned evil not for the sake of evil, but to avoid it And whoever doesn't know good from evil, he will fall into it." This is derived from a hadeeth – and I mean by it, the hadeeth of Hudhaifah Ibn Al-Yamaan, radyAllaahu 'anhumaa, which is reported in the Saheehs of Al-Bukhaaree and Muslim. He, radyAllaahu 'anhumaa, said: "The people used to ask Allaah's Messenger, sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, about the good, but I used to ask him about the evil for fear of it reaching me." So being aware of what the Muslims are upon from humiliation and weakness in order to turn them away from that towards using the means of knowledge, strength and power, this is an obligation from the many obligations. As for engaging at length in obtaining news, knowledge of battles and western politics, then this is from the aspect of: "Knowledge of something is better than being ignorant of it." This is something that we do not forsake. However, at the same time, we must not be very enthusiastic and fanatical about it. This is since the Prophet, sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, did not establish the affair of his Companions on knowing and following precisely, the news of his enemies to the same extent as he, sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, used to focus on teaching his Companions from one perspective and cultivating them on Allaah's command from another perspective. Shaikh Mashoor Hasan said, “Our Shaikh, may Allaah have mercy on him, charged me with reviewing some of the volumes of As-Silsilah ad-Da’eefah before it was printed … he gave me the fifth volume of Ad-Da’eefah. So I took the volume from him [which was written] in his own handwriting before it was printed.
When I took it out of the bag [it was in] and saw it I started to cry. The Shaikh asked me, “What is wrong with you?” So I didn’t say anything, and the Shaikh saw the tears in my eyes. The Shaikh, may Allaah have mercy on him, had written the fifth volume of Ad-Da’eefah on gift paper, and on the paper bags used for sugar and rice, the red [paper] bags which the people would weigh sugar and rice in. So the Shaikh said to me, “I used to have thread which I would place in ink. Then I would place this thread on the paper and so the paper would become lined.” And he said, “I didn’t have any money to buy paper with.””
